Wearing Thin 04:39
Ugh, I don't see the point But I'll keep on trying Been too busy trying to be someone to everyone I forgot about dying And everything And everyone Is gone from me, now Time to begin I'm wearing thin like a fashion Will you be around when I come Just to check in Looking for something that a didn't know I'd lost When I was wearing myself thin? I'm sorry, you don't get to decide When you'll feel the winds of change Shifting, burying, lifting, carrying Voices that sing I'm wearing thin like a fashion Self care? Don't make me laugh Is that what you call it? There comes a time when everyone needs someone Who'll be around when you're not

Sitting on her front porch At the very top of her very own hill Is the queen of the cul-de-sac And every day, I drive by I see her there, she's a vision in that fuzzy robe And a worn-out face that says She's the queen of ciggy hill And no one seems to notice, but she knows them all by face She's the queen of ciggy hill And not one of her subjects pay mind to the way she sits there, all alone Bathing in her glory Looking out past the bags under her yellow eyes She sees her kingdom So much to be proud of But nothing she can find to smile about Everyone has forgotten She's the queen of ciggy hill And no one ever sees her, but she's memorized their plates She's the queen of ciggy hill And I can't help but notice, she doesn't seem so happy in that place She'll wake up, again This afternoon, about 3pm And make her way outside Breathe in the thick air and wonder why She's the queen of ciggy hill She longs to rule another kingdom, but she never will She'll never get off ciggy hill She was born into the empire She's the queen of ciggy hill I wonder if she knows how I feel and if she cares at all She's the queen of ciggy hill She'll probably never leave, she'll just drift off in scattered ashes, across the sky

Self is the reason we look for love and find only abuse Self is the reason we see people only for their use Self is the reason for starving Self is the reason for every one suffering Self is the reason for tree stumps Self is the reason for landfills and waste dumps Self is the reason our air is so thick Self is the reason that we are all sick Self is the reason we don't hear each other Self is the reason for killing our brothers Self is the reason useless opinion Self is the reason for unjust dominion Self is the reason for memories you can't shake Self is the reason we think we're superior Self is the reason we think we're inferior Self is the reason you can't seem to have enough Self is the reason for all that is made up

The Water 02:00
I can't begin to explain how the water has healed me I can't begin to begin Would you believe if I told you the water has healed me? Thanks for the invite, I'm bad at making new friends I can't believe that I'd be so deceived by the moonlight The sky is so black, the sun has not made his arrival What if the trees don't grow any leaves again, this year? What if the ground forbear to bear any fruit? If everyone's listening, let me begin Hear my words, if you so choose I don't know much about growing up But I've learned growing up is just learning to lose

Everyone wants to be where you are. You only see the world as it sees you. No one's laughing, they're all crying, too.

Sunslink 04:57
Slinking in the sun while the evening's on it's way Nothing more to be done, we've reached the ending of the day When the purple mountains swallow the light We'll stay here and still lay in the grass And when it's all pitch black, we will stand to our feet And find our way back The bugs are biting, the children are at play The foliage is glowing in that special, golden way When the purple mountains swallow our warmth We'll stay here and still wade in the water And when it's far too cold, we'll make our way to the sand And find our way back
